Akash A The shots, landscape, and scenery was gorgeous. It's like an arthouse film. I thought the plot wasn't too hefty, or rather, not as well executed as it could have been. I read that the lead character was intended to be like a "wanna-be superhero" as per the director / Ryan Gosling.I suppose that adds to why he was the way he was. Regardless, his acting was great, and his poise was something.I suppose there's a good plot, and then the execution / timing of said plot. Something here wasn't all that, but it was a decent movie. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/23/24 Full Review Audience Member Will forever be a top 10 favorite movie of my mine Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/20/24 Full Review Tristan C Drive masterfully blends elements of noir, thriller, and drama, creating an atmospheric and immersive experience. Ryan Gosling's portrayal of the enigmatic Driver is compelling, his quiet intensity and moral ambiguity drawing viewers deeper into the story. The supporting cast deliver powerful performances that add depth and complexity to the narrative. The cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel is nothing short of stunning, capturing the gritty, neon-lit streets of Los Angeles with a stylish flair that enhances the film's mood. The soundtrack, featuring a mix of synth-pop and ambient tracks, perfectly complements the visuals, creating a hauntingly beautiful soundscape that lingers long after the credits roll. While "Drive" may not cater to those expecting non-stop action, its deliberate pacing and character-driven plot offer a refreshing alternative to conventional genre fare. Director Nicolas Winding Refn's unique vision and meticulous attention to detail make "Drive" a standout film that defies easy categorization. It's a movie that challenges and rewards its audience, leaving a lasting impression with its bold storytelling and striking aesthetic. In conclusion, "Drive" is a must-see for anyone looking to explore the boundaries of genre filmmaking. Its blend of style, substance, and suspense makes it a memorable and impactful cinematic experience.
