Job SummaryActs as a primary assistant to the Associate Dean of Financial Aid and Financial Aid Director. Primary contact for Federal Work Student program.
Job Duties
Manage Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program for college. Monitor all student workers hired under the FWS program. Official hiring official for all student workers hired under the FWS program.
Counsel students and parents who are applying for financial assistance. Conduct presentations at high school workshops, on and off campus financial aid workshops, and orientation.
Use professional knowledge to determine eligibility for Special and/or Unusual Circ*mstances.
Manage and process student financial aid files including but not limited to verification, reject files, c-codes, recalculations, running and working reports, disbursing aid to student's account.
Using the NSLDS, COD, FAA Access and MYKHEAA data systems to determine federal and state eligibility.
Resolve escalated tickets and emails from the KCTCS Student Service Center, BCTC Financial Aid email box, and Starfish.
Hire and supervise office student workers.
Attending Professional Development training. Serve on college committees. Attending Financial Aid conferences and training. Active participation in state financial aid association.
Conduct financial aid / FWS presentations at workshops, orientation, area high school workshops, and other community originations.
Other duties as assigned by the VP for Enrollment Management, Chief Financial Aid Director, and Financial Aid Director.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree (related field), and two years related experience, or equivalent.
