HARLAN CAMPUS DIRECTOR Elijah Buell The Harlan Campus began in 1938 as Harlan County Vocational School. It became a campus of Southest in 2001. It is home to many technical programs including welding, auto body repair, medical assisting, and electrical technology. It also hosts the Goin Back to Harlan bluegrass festival each June.

PRINTING GUIDELINES • At the beginning of every semester, all students receive $5. 00 of printing privileges. Each sheet of paper, you print, on campus is $. 10 • Additional Print cards are available, in the Business Office, in increments of $1. 00 and $5. 00

PARKING REGULATIONS REGULATION • Campus speed limit is NO more than 10 mph • No parking in fire lanes, crosswalks, or guest parking • No parking in Handicap Zones without permit • Driving a motor vehicle (including motorcycles) on campus property; other an authorized road, driveway, or parking area is prohibited • All vehicles shall be parked within the marked boundaries of a parking space • Students shall park only in Student designated parking areas • No disabled or inoperative vehicles shall be parked on any campus for a period of 48 hours without the approval of campus administration • Any vehicle left on campus in excess of 48 hours may be towed at owner’s expense • Any vehicle parked on campus must display the appropriate SKCTC parking permit. The permit must hang from the review mirror or be placed on the dashboard, in plain view. • Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College assumes no liability for the protection of any vehicle or it’s contents while it is parked on campus. • Parking regulations will be enforced on all campuses

ACTIVATING YOUR STUDENT SERVICE CENTER (SELFSERVICE) *User Account Cannot Be Activated Until 24 Hours After Submitting The Admission Application* KCTCS Student ID Number ____ Go to SKCTC Student Resources Choose My. Path • Click “User Account Center” and then “Setup User Profile” to look up/set your KCTCS username and password or use the link: User Account Center Enter your birth month and date. Enter your KCTCS Student ID number. Click “Next”. A temporary passcode will be sent to the email/cell phone you entered on our Application for Admission. Enter this passcode in the appropriate box Create the security questions and answers as requested. Click “Next” *Remember your security question answers as you cannot reset your account without them! Click “Save My User Profile”. Click “Set My Password” Enter your last name & KCTCS Student ID number. Click “Sign In” Read the password requirements carefully and enter the password in both boxes. Return to the User Account Center. Click “Student Service Center” Login to Student Service Center using your username/Use ID and new password Passwords expire every 90 days. SNAP Safety Notification Alert Process SNAP alerts users to on-campus emergencies, closings, or delays. With SNAP you can: • Find out if classes ae cancelled/delayed due to weather, power outages, or other unexpected events impacting campus • Get severe weather notifications so you can take shelter when a storm hits • Receive emergency messages when something/someone could be a threat to your personal safety Make sure your contact information is correct *Parents/spouses can also receive SNAP emergency messages*

HELPFUL HINTS • Go to class no matter what (even if you don’t have the book or your financial aid isn’t complete) • Your advisor is there to help you, but ultimately, you are responsible. Make sure you are in the right classes • Attendance impacts Financial Aid (if you aren’t going to classes/completing work, you won’t receive financial aid) • Each class has a Syllabus. This tells you everything you need to know about the class. Print it, Review it • Make sure your contact information (address, phone, email) stays up-to-date • Academic Calendars are important to have

HELPFUL HINTS (CONTINUED) • Blackboard is used for online & some face-to-face classes. (Blackboard Doesn’t have Snow Days) • If you can’t finish, drop the class, don’t stop going • If you have questions, ask! We may not know the answers, but we will find someone who does.
